Terms of Use
Effective June 27, 2026
By using howamericamoves.com (the “site”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
The data and no warranty
The site presents figures derived from public IRS Statistics of Income migration data. The figures cover federal income tax filers only and do not represent the full population. Adjusted gross income (AGI) is shown in nominal dollars and is not a measure of economic gain or loss. The data shows what changed, not why; we make no causal claims about why people moved.
The site and its content are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We work to present the data accurately but do not guarantee that it is complete, current, or error free. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for any financial, legal, or relocation decision. See the methodology for what the data does and does not measure.
Acceptable use
You may not use the site to break the law, infringe others’ rights, or interfere with its operation, including by scraping in a way that degrades service, attempting to gain unauthorized access, or overloading our infrastructure.
Intellectual property
The underlying IRS migration data is in the public domain. The site’s name, design, original text, and presentation are ours. You are welcome to cite and link to the site. If you reuse our charts or summaries, please attribute How America Moves and the IRS as the data source.

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the effective date above. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
